The Falls Music & Arts Festival History
2002
2002 was an amazing year for The Falls. A fantastic lineup really signified the festival growing to a new level, and bought a depth and variety of talent that has begun to stamp the festival as a truly unique event in what is a truly unique setting. One of the many highlights was undoubtedly the performance of the great Jack Johnson. His set, which started under an ominous looking sky, seemed to turn even the weather to perfection and the sun soon came streaming through. The crowd equally rose to the occasion. Jack's set was a fine tribute to the farm and the festival and heralded the growth of a new direction for the event. The funky samba-ing latino sounds of Ozomatli also bought a very groovy vibe to The Falls. Generating an amazing connection with the audience, they played a brand of music that had you celebrating just being on your feet. There were many other fantastic moments, like The Stalkers playing their 'all star' rockin roll. The Beautiful Girls and Xavier Rudd stole the show in the tent, with fans launching into what was a huge celebration. You Am I doing yet another classic set at The Falls with an unbelievably clear and loud stage sound. Black Eyed Peas, smooth and slick as ever, also vied for poll position and the crowd went nuts. Other great acts included: Brad, The Vandals, Grinspoon, Machine Gun Fellatio, Jet, Even, The Ataris, 1200 Techniques, Magic Dirt, Rocket Science, The Butterfly Effect, Warped, Antiskeptic, The Casanovas, Quirk, The Sleepy Jackson and Timo Maas. In the Cybercircus, the party never stopped with Groove Terminator, Offcutts, Zephyr Timbre and heaps more.
