The Falls Music & Arts Festivals have wrapped for ’08 - from where we stood, it was a glorious adventure. With a searing combination of hosting the perfect guests, a superb array of performers, and a thrilling arts program, The Falls boutique experience as hosted on the natural wonderlands of the Lorne & Marion Bay farms, was splendid. Oh the revelry! Why must it be over? We saw you pack that soul picnic and let your hips do the talking when Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed and The True Loves took to the stage; just as we saw Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings put the grind, the shimmy and the hump back in your rump. We watched as you rocked-out to Franz Ferdinand, Tame Impala and Wolf & Cub; bopped to The Kooks, Mystery Jets, Tegan & Sara and Blue King Brown; were utterly mesmerised by Lykke Li, Fleet Foxes, Gomez, Soko and the outrageously energetic onstage antics of the monochromatically suited Swede’s, The Hives; and danced like it was 1999 with Santogold, The Grates, Architecture in Helsinki, Late of The Pier and many more.
